AT&T Stores to carry iPad!

Posted by Hawered On February - 15 - 2010

A recent post on Macrumors, led me to Call AT&T’s local store in my area. I had to investigate what they knew. After a long and involved process with trying to get a hold of someone, I finally got an answer from a nice representative. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Hello

Them: Hi, how may I help you today?

Me: I was wondering if you will be carrying the iPad?

Them: Yes! I do believe we will! I saw it in our inventory, let me check.

(I wait)

Them: umm, Do you mind if I put you on hold for a minute?

Me: No problem

(On Hold)

Them: As far as I know, we wont be carrying the iPad. This is what I was informed.

Me: Alright thanks

As you can see, there is a problem in that conversation. they said, yes they will be, and that is was seen in their inventory but they then said no. Why would they change their mind? Because they were “Just informed” that they were not allowed to say anything about it?

It seems to me that AT&T is trying to cover up, but I it seems like AT&T WILL be carrying the iPad in their stores.

A Good Recording With A Computer Mic?

Posted by VGStudios On November - 27 - 2009

To answer this question… Yes! I record Heavy Metal using nothing but one of those off white computer microphones, and I will tell you my secret. Most people put mics right infront of the Amp, This will make audio quality terrible when using one of these. Computer microphones are built for voices. When they have something louder then an average talking voice in front of it, it is being overworked and will come out all scratchy. Back in the 40’s when people mic’d drums/guitars they would put the mics about 10 feet away from the instrument because they had the same problems. Here’s the thing. Most people don’t know to much about sound, but when you play through a guitar amp, the loudest sound is being shot out the front. Putting a mic there is the equivalent of blowing into the mic. Here’s how you get the microphone close enough, without loosing sound quality. I put my amp on the floor and sit the mic on my desk above it. This way your close, but the sound is not hitting it directly. This makes it sound much better and you get close to studio quality sound. Now drums, Thats a different story. I still have not got a great recording for them because they are WAY to loud. I suggest getting some premade drums for your track. Same thing goes for bass as it did with guitar. This is how I make Studio Quality recordings with nothing but a computer mic. Here’s a Sample of one of my recordings done just like that: http://tinyurl.com/SongSample The Drums I did at a Studio.

FM Radio Application For iPhone/iPod Touch In The Making

Posted by Hawered On November - 7 - 2009

Many sources that work closely with Apple, have revealed that Apple is in the making of an FM radio application of the iPhone and iPod touch.

This application would be like the “FM Feature” for the fairly new iPod Nano 5G. It supposedly will have the Live Pause feature, in-app-purchusing, although, I do think you will have to leave the app.

What I do hope to see is a way to listen to it outside of the app, like the “Music” application. I would also love to see a way to record and save to an FM playlist.

This application would be avalible on the:

  • iPhone 3G
  • iPhone 3Gs
  • iPod Touch 2G
  • iPod Touch 3G

This feature is available, and has been available for a while. It is just like the bluetooth that wasn’t enabled until the 3.0 update on the iPod touch.

I hope to see this feature rolled out soon, because I would enjoy listening to Christmas music after Thanksgiving.

Tell me what you think, would you like to see something life this rolled out soon? Leave a comment below.

I have just hit 300 posts. This is 301.
