A recent post on Macrumors, led me to Call AT&T’s local store in my area. I had to investigate what they knew. After a long and involved process with trying to get a hold of someone, I finally got an answer from a nice representative. Our conversation went like this:

Me: Hello

Them: Hi, how may I help you today?

Me: I was wondering if you will be carrying the iPad?

Them: Yes! I do believe we will! I saw it in our inventory, let me check.

(I wait)

Them: umm, Do you mind if I put you on hold for a minute?

Me: No problem

(On Hold)

Them: As far as I know, we wont be carrying the iPad. This is what I was informed.

Me: Alright thanks

As you can see, there is a problem in that conversation. they said, yes they will be, and that is was seen in their inventory but they then said no. Why would they change their mind? Because they were “Just informed” that they were not allowed to say anything about it?

It seems to me that AT&T is trying to cover up, but I it seems like AT&T WILL be carrying the iPad in their stores.

So as most all of you know, the Apple Tablet is imminent. It is supposedly ready for the January 19th announcement. The schedule, most likely, will be the announcement, on January 19th, then the release in May or July.

The Apple tablet is an extraordinary piece of machinery. Although, all is still speculation, we can assume, since coming from apple, this will be incredible. According to sources Steve Jobs has been on the Tablet since 2003. The tablet has also been rejected, not once, but twice. FIrst for “Bad Battery Times” and second for “Insufficient memory.” Both good reasons and it lets us know Apple wont give us a “Fail” device.

The Tablet is supposedly not going to run full OS X. It is going to run a watered down version for the Tablet, itself. Much like the iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Supposedly the tablet will be able to surf the web, Check email, and much more you would want your phone, your computer and now a tablet to do. It is more of a mix of the Mac and the iPhone.

The tablet is supposedly going to be offered in two versions. With 3G, and Without. I plan on buying one, so I will most likely get the without version, as I do not want to pay a monthly charge, although 3G would be nice.

Some rumors have stated that that tablet will have its own “App Store.” Much like the iPhone, it will host apps, and applications for the tablet.

Now I shall list some of the new features we should expect in the tablet:

Camera: iSight camera on the front for Photo Booth and iChat video-conferencing.

Accelerometer: For turning your tablet sideways for a different view.

Stand: It’ll have a dock stand for recharging and syncing to devices like the Time Machine backup box via Ethernet. The dock will also hold the screen upright like a conventional screen for work. Just pair it with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

Virtual Keyboard: With a quick gesture on the screen, a keyboard will pop up for your convenience.

All in all this will be an experience like no other. This will be the tablet to change our way of computing. A computer to sit in your lap while you touch it with you original pointing device, your finger.

This is and will be the best device Apple has released since the iPhone.
